Sky Watch Friday

Welcome to Sky Watch Friday!

How to participate in Sky Watch
1. Post your sky picture on your blog. You do not have to use a picture with only the sky in it and the picture can be taken whenever and not just on Friday.
2. Come to my blog and sign in on Mr. Linky
3. Enjoy the beautiful sky pictures of the other bloggers.

There is a new Mr. Linky each week so you always have to sign up on the current one. Please do not sign your name on Mr. Linky unless you have a sky picture posted on your blog.

Last week I added some of you to Mr. Linky but I think it might have caused some confusion. This week I'll just say this..if you have your Sky Watch post up before I make my post and you want me to put your name on Mr. Linky then just leave me a message in the comments and I'll start doing that as I make my visits on Thursday evenings. This is only for people who live in other countries other than the USA. I will do that because they are in bed sleeping when I make my post.

One other thing...I will be editing Mr. Linky and deleting any blogs off the list who have pictures that I feel are inappropriate for childen to see. Some of us have children and grand children peeping over our shoulders. I'll also delete names off the list if there is a mistake made in your blog address. I'll try to fix it if I can and add your name back.

It was nice to have a blue sky day after the stormy and cold weather we had earlier in the week.

Oh boy, is that a beautiful blue! I am looking forward to seeing a few more of them here as I am very tired of grey skies every day!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Salty February 15, 2008 9:08 AM

Beautiful Blue!
We have also had a bout with cold stormy weather and the clear skies today was a very welcome change.

I appreciate what you are doing with your latest Mr. Linky rules, very appropriate, thank you.

Anita February 15, 2008 9:10 AM

DeeMom February 15, 2008 9:14 AM

Added some Note worthy information about the Total Lunar Eclipse.[February 20th ]

Now if some gets those pictures how awesome will that be?

Sandy Carlson February 15, 2008 9:15 AM

I love that kind of looking up. Magic, Dot!

Jean February 15, 2008 9:25 AM

Uh Oh. Dotty Pants Jean in South Georgia linked (#9) to the wrong blog. I had just finished with the Bloom Day post and forgot where I was going. Sorry.

Please delete 'Jean in South Georgia' and leave Dotty Pants (sob).

I saw that moon this morning -- there was a wispy cloud here.

Alan February 15, 2008 10:27 AM

Nice capture of the half moon. I always love bare grey trees.

Lori February 15, 2008 10:27 AM

Salty sent me here. :-)
I like the rules for linking to your blog - thank you for keeping it the way it should be.

Beautiful blue sky and moon. Can spring be too far away?

Craver Vii February 15, 2008 11:11 AM

Oh be careful, lest those prickly branches scratch up the moon. After many cloud-filled days, it's refreshing to see a blue sky.

granmal February 15, 2008 11:37 AM

Hey we had the same idea! Blue sky with the moon above. I like your branches. Good picture.

david mcmahon February 15, 2008 11:41 AM

That is such a classy shot. Perfect frame.

leslie February 15, 2008 11:52 AM

This is stunning! I love this type of shot - through the stark bare winter trees into a blue sky. And you even got the moon in the shot! Excellent!

Anna February 15, 2008 12:16 PM

Beautiful picture! It was nice seeing some blue sky this week.

Andrea February 15, 2008 12:27 PM

When I saw your sky watch picture tonight I knew you had to take this picture today. I saw that same shaped moon this afternoon while enjoying time outside with my grandson. You captured the moon so well. My camera does not have a good zoom and I cannot get a good picture of the moon.

Hope your Valentine's Day was special. ;)

Sharon February 15, 2008 12:30 PM

Wonderful! I sane a new camera, I really want to be able to get good moon pictures. This is great.

Sharon February 15, 2008 12:55 PM

Beautiful Dot!!

Lana G! February 15, 2008 1:32 PM

I love this picture.

Joyismygoal February 15, 2008 1:41 PM

nice fresh clean blue and it seems so natural but very unnatural to have the moon in th day

ellen b February 15, 2008 1:53 PM

Your photo is beautiful. I'm glad you got some blue back in your world!

Berit February 15, 2008 1:58 PM

Beautiful photo, and a nice blue color, even moon, everything!
Have good weekend.

imac February 15, 2008 2:43 PM

super moon and sky Dot. really nice work. see my lazy moon.

Isadora February 15, 2008 2:49 PM

Too bad we don't look up at the sky often enough unless it is on a photo. What a splendidly beautiful view - almost haunting with the moon still in the sky.

RuneE February 15, 2008 2:54 PM

A moon on the rise - what could be better than that?

Ida February 15, 2008 3:00 PM

Lovely.
I like the way the moon is placed between the boughs.
I hope that the Clerk of the weather has decided to stay there at your place. ;)

Happy Sky Watch.
Thank`s for the job you are doing for us watchers! :)

Suzi-k February 15, 2008 3:07 PM

Have a nice weekend :)

Truls February 15, 2008 3:30 PM

A great shot as usual, DOT. To capture the moon like this was clever.

Frøydis Vestbøstad February 15, 2008 3:52 PM

Can't help thinking this picture at night - spooky;-)

RUTH February 15, 2008 3:53 PM

Angie February 15, 2008 5:02 PM

Hi Dot,
A beautiful picture and I agree totally with your rule about Mr Linky.

Paulie February 15, 2008 5:04 PM

Pretty blue sky -- maybe spring is in the air?

Old Wom Tigley February 15, 2008 5:06 PM

Hi Dot
Beautiful to see the moon out and about in a blue sky. We see the moon each and every day, always the same side as well.. yet when it's on show in the day time I always feel the better for it, it is like finding a £/$ on your doorstep.
The poem was my doing... I have a large collection of poems, some squibbled on paper from years ado, books, and now on disks and my hard drive. I will see something I like and think I could use that one at sometime... and thats how it started.
I back you 100 % in your changes to Mr. Linksy and your views on pictures. Well done for saying so as well.
Have a great weekend.
Tom, Jane, and Big Pete..

Big Pete looks forward to Fridays Sky Watch.. he as a Sky Watch folder now on my computer that as over 50 pictures in... and I know he will be adding some more today as he was out at Sunset again last night.

Paulie February 15, 2008 5:12 PM

Pretty blue sky -- maybe spring is in the air? I have a dark sky and a blue sky -- the sun is peeking out in both.

mrsnesbitt February 15, 2008 5:18 PM

We have a grey sky here at the moment , yet it isn't toocold. Ideal to take Wilma on the beach I think in an effort to tire her out. Mind you, I am the tired one. We went out for a valentine's meal last night and were late home!Nice meal though and I didn't have to cook, so I shouldn't complain! Oh and the wine was wonderful!

Pernille's ting og tang February 15, 2008 6:01 PM

Siani February 15, 2008 7:50 PM

That's a lovely shot - love the pale moon against the bright blue sky.

My pic is up - I'll be a little slow getting around everyone else's shots, as I have a backlog of visits to return from earlier in the week. But Sky Watch is fast becoming my favorite weekly meme, so I'm determined to view and comment on as many sky pics as I can. Have a fabulous weekend!

Kerri February 15, 2008 8:00 PM

Neat shot!

Mike February 15, 2008 8:50 PM

Just want to tell you this I am sitting here in the morning, commenting for 2 hours (without make-up haha) I told myself not to blog more than 2 hours ( and no longer than the music on my blog in side bar) ... in a row, I just visited half of the skywatch members... still not all the people, GRggh I hope that its not bad Not to visit them all "in a row"? I continue tomorrow, have visiters in reall life, like this evening...i have to cook and shop for that...

Hi! Late again but I will visit everybody over the weekend (too cold to do anything else!). It looks like your skies were as blue as ours were for a few hours today. I love the bare trees, it's so mathematical. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

chanpheng February 16, 2008 2:04 PM

My sky is not so pretty - this is hazy season over here, so the sunsets can either be spectacular or drab. Today was a drab one.

Max-e February 16, 2008 11:41 PM

stunning shot

Karen February 17, 2008 12:26 AM

hey Dot - posted my SWF just now even though my pics were taken earlier in the week. Not nearly as good as the ones you've taken, but I'm going to try to keep up with this each week. Love the 'windows' picture too!!

Debbie365 February 17, 2008 12:30 PM
