I'm becoming a railfan! I took this photo last year down in the central part of the state. I love the blue color. I've tried to find out something about the engine but I can't. Maybe some of you will know.
The locomotive was built by General Motors and belongs to Georgia Southwest RR(GSWR). I remember seeing a similar blue locomotive in GM's tv ads about a year ago. GSWR is a short-line RR operating between southwestern Georgia and southeastern Alabama. Hope this helps.
'Orange Blossom Special' that will be in my mind all day now for sure... must get my Johnny Cash CD out today. The power that engine must have, and thank you Travis for the info.
Travis, thank you for your nice comments on my pictures. You really made my day! I use a Canon S3 IS. I think the butterfly was just a lucky shot. You don't seem to have a blog so can't return your visit but thanks for stopping by.
Dot, I like the blue train....hope my husband and I come near one like this so that I can relate Travis' information to him....your blog is so educational.....Does GSWR stand for Georgia South Western Railroad?
A train in my favorite color, great. I'm not tired of you I like it to have contact with other people. Your photo pop-up works when clicking on it, but maybe it is a small photo you uploaded and then it won't display larger. Keep on trying and you learn, I try to answer your questions but I don't know very much about HTML.
Just to set the record straight, this picture was taken with a Kodak Easyshare before I got my Canon. Betty, I think you are right on what the letters stand for. Hope you see one in your area. Tina, the picture was taken on the way back from a trip to Andersonville. Joann, our trains are different colors. There is a black one in another post. Last week I saw one that was red and yellow. No camera with me! CRY!
I love the blue locomotive. We are home to a Norfolk Southern Railyard so we see all different color locomotives come through our town. Our 6 year old grandson loves trains and enjoys seeing all of the different trains come through our town.It is not unusual to see people standing near the railyard taking pictures of the different trains.
