Purina Barn

I found this big red barn in middle Georgia. For those who might not know the checkboard design is the trade mark of the Purina Company. Purina produces feed for animals and probably many other things.

I like old barns, they make great shots
The truck from your previous post. if you notice the steering wheel is facing the back of the truck, I have seen this done before, There are some fork lift trucks around here that have been converted from old trucks and have the same reverse steering.

Do you have or have you seen any barns with the "Chew Mail Pouch" tobacco signs painted on them? I have never seen the Purina icon before.

Dot, the first thing that struck me about this is the way that lower branch follows the same curve as the roof of the barn, as if the two were old friend. It made me think of the way trees grown around each other. This is a nice, personal image of something belonging to a company that has fed many a best friend in my life. Thanks.

I do love this barn shot!! We have an old water tower near us that has the Purina symbol on it!
I used to see this symbol all the time when I was younger....I don't see it as often anymore.

I can see this barn as a home for humans, can't you, Dot? It has a feel about it, an inviting feel. And there's already the Purina (dog chow) logo on the side of the building to make the family pooch feel right at home.

I like the way the one tree branch mimics the roof line.

(though not with checker boards on the outside...)

Do prople convert old barns in Georgia? The bris tend to convert anything we can, usually into luxury apartments.

Perfectly 'all American' look to that barn and I could use a shipment of cat food :)

Dot, all of your photos are so great. Thanks for finding so many unique, beautiful and interesting things to photograph for us.

I have just talked with Mama on her cell phone--I'm home still, doing laundry, allowing Duncan plenty of time outside his kennel and some well-deserved attention, tending to her get-well bouquet from a neighbor, etc.--she said she had an OK night, ate a bit more breakfast, and has not seemed as dizzy when she's up, but she said she still falls asleep as soon as she lying down. She said that if I visited anyone’s blog, to say thank you for your well wishes for her, for all of us.

It's such a lovely photograph. I enjoy the angle at which you took it, a bit lower than usual. The colors are grand.

nice pic and interesting info... our South African cats eat Purina cat food, so it must be a pretty extensive company!
