Sam's Tree House

This is the home of Sam Edwards in Calhoun, Georgia. I've posted about this before but on another blog. The last time I posted I borrowed Sam's pictures with his permission. His are much better than mine so please run over to his web site if you are interested and read about this man and his unique home. He has been featured on several tv shows and is also in the book Weird Georgia.
If you are interested in strange and unusual things in your state trying googling "Weird" and then your state name to see if your state has a book. I know there are Weird books for Ohio, Virginia, New York, and Maryland and probably others.

This posted before I was ready. I lost my connection and now I can't get to blogger dashboard.

Wow, what a tree house! What "little boy" wouldn't be thrilled with that! I'd also like to go learn more about it.

There is a Weird Florida book as well.

Does he give tours and charge for them? Ü I am surprised that he is allowed to build such a structure. He must have conformed to many city regulations. . . or is it out in the country? Well, one man's trash is another's treasure.

How fabulous is this .. the man is brilliant utilizing all sorts of existing 'things' .. this could be real definition of going green ..

Hmmmm, I'm wondering if he had that plane entering his structure before the Twin Towers? It brought that to mind for me. I'd be a little distressed living there, I think.

Great pictures! My DH built a bank over in Calhoun a couple of years ago, a nice little town.

He's got a little of everything in that tree house. A plane, boats, a helicopter, and there's probably more on the other side. What a playhouse!

Hey, Dot. I've had a moment to browse your first page of posts, and I certainly enjoyed myself. Portland has a Web site, Keep Portland Weird!, that supports shopping local. I like this tree house!

Thanks for all of your visits and comments. Your prayers and thoughts for all of us are greatly appreciated.

I want to tell all of you that on my way from Chicago IL back to Clearwater FL my alternator went out and I found myself in Calhoun GA. The mechanic, Mike was wonderful and insisted my 5 kids and I go to his friends tree house while he was fixing the car. We went over reluctantly and we were blown away how welcoming and genuine Sam was. He took us on a tour of the tree house ans showed us pictures of himself and Pres. Carter on the wall. He explained every room and how it came about. Not only were my kids blown away but so was I. He had us stand in the "Dome room" and asked me to sing, I opt to yell :) It was very cool. I felt like a little kid sitting around listening to him tell storied. Sam was a wonderful host and very cool gentleman. Everyone should go see this treehouse. Everyone in Calhoun GA was pleasant and I would not mind breaking down there again.
