Your picture makes dandelions look so pretty.I was outside in our yard with our grandson yesterday.Had my camera with me to take pictures.I also took a picture of a lonely dandelion.Glad there was only one but mid February is quite early in our area for dandelions to be sprouting up.
ha! it will not be lonely for long I bet... As a flower head it is a belter... what a shame it goes mad in the garden.. I want to say thank you today Dot.. I have really enjoyed all the water tower pictures I've been seeing... I have since found out that the UK dose indeed have quite a few of these but I've yet to see one.
If one wouldn't spray them, would collect them, one could make some find dandelion wine or jelly. It seems much the better way to deal with those flowers/weeds to me.
It is from the important apiarian plants, that sprout almost all the year with small variants! They help the bees in the difficult seasons. They give yellow pollen, very nutritious and nectar!
That dandelion looks so different from the type we get here...yours almost reminds me of a sunflower:-) We won't be seeing any dandelions around here until at least June! xox
This is insanity. It's like appreciating rust or barnacles, or AAAAArgh!
Dandelions kill grass. They starve the sweet innocent, lovely, little blades of grass from sunlight above and water & nutrients below. I hesitate to place my trust in chemical tools for removing dandelions. The best way that I have found is to carefully vacuum up all the dandelion seeds, tear the whole thing out of the ground, even if it leaves a gaping hole, throw it on the sidewalk and stomp on it, yelling the whole time.
(sigh) That way, the OTHER weeds will learn not to trespass. :-)

Spring is in the air with all the blooming flowers. I think it is just a reminder that God is still in control.
I have never seen a dandelion like that! It looks like a beautiful flower.
I didn't realize that was a dandelion until I read the title. It looked like a floral designer's flower, not a weed.
The dandelions are really pretty if you don't think of them as weed. I have a lot of them in my garden too.
I never worry about dendelions in my yard. some people spay to be rid of them.
First you have one and then they are everywhere.
Arn't you lucky to have Dandelions all ready. Time to get out and pick some Danelion greens. Perhaps, a batch of Dandelion wine is in order.
We are still buried in snow

I love dandelions and have plenty of them in my yard. :-)
All your photos are beautiful!! ALways enjoy your blog!!
It looks so pretty, cheerful from that POV .. nice shot! And especially cheery this morning when its dreary, dank, dismal... rainy day here in NYC
I think they look nice - petty that they are always NOT welcome.
Beautiful flower with a fantastic yellow, great image.
That is the prettiest dandelion i have ever seen, ours don't look like that.

I agree - if they were hard to grow you wouldn't see as many.
Very pretty shot.
No dandelions here yet!
You've captured this one beautifully Dot!

I must be weird - I love dandelions. I think they make a boring, plain green lawn look really pretty!

Even though they are not the most favored flower~the picture is very beautiful!
Haha! You think? Usually, we have to pay for something to appreciate it!
A bright SUN! Lovely! :)
It's so pretty and yellow... such a welcome sight with all the snow still laying about here.
This is a very nice macro, spring is in the air in Georgia too.
