our fruit trees aren't even looking like blooming yet, but the forsythia looks great! If we can groq great pears here in Nj you certainly ashould be able from those blooms!
Those are beautiful Dot, we have to drive to the Hood River to see those. Which is about 100 miles away, Do you have like a Pear Blossom Festival? They have a Apple Blossom Festival there. We went a few yrs ago but the buds really were not out yet because it had still been too cold. Oh and yes i would love to see Georgia. Not sure about the humidity tho. we have dry heat here
When P and I moved back to this area after getting married and finishing college, my father in-law rented a small house for us. We did get to see the place before dad rented it for us. However, when we did see it we discovered that the back yard went all the way to the street behind us. It was huge and had a couple of pear, apple, and cherry trees. So for the year we lived there we canned pears, cherry's and made apple sauce. We also made cherry pies and apple pies.
It was great. Thanks for the photos they look great.
Your pear blooms make me sad. We had a big old fashioned pear tree and let our neighbor use or pasture for his horses..just to be kind. Well, they ate the bark off my pear tree and killed it. It was about 30 years old. I mourn for my pear and now hate to even see his horses...they are not in my pasture anymore.
These shots of flower in bloom remember me that springtime is fast approaching. Thanks for your stopping by and comment to my "ski-fri". if you would like know something about my city, please visit my "Torino per immagini" http://liviobonino.blogspot.com Have a nice Sunday ahead. Livio
MMMMMMMmmmm! I LOVE the perfumed air of pear blossoms. It takes me back to my childhood, picking bunches of violets with pear blossom petals falling around. Thanks for the memories!

Did you pick up your award from me? Come and get it please.
You have real pear trees. We just have the Bradford (pretty trees) pear trees that are actually pearless. :( These are some beautiful blooms.

Pears trees are blooming everywhere, it seems; at least in the Northern Hemisphere...

How nice to be able to eat fresh pears right off the tree!!
Can you just break off just a little twig and send us? Such a sight is sadly missed.
Lovely pear blossoms! My mom makes a "pear preserve" that she cans. Do you do that with your pears???
