Beautiful photos. That bark looks moldy! Maybe it's just more colorful in GA, as opposed to CA.
Beautiful.
I've always loved crepe myrtles. The photo of the bark is awesome!
Great colors, detail and texture. Lovely!
Lovely shots. I especially like the vivid, green, ruffled lichen in contrast to the smooth, brown bark.
My crepe myrtles must be too young to have their bark do this. As for the flower, it's one of the most breathtaking around. Great shot to show it!
The crepe myrtle is a nice bush or tree. Not sure what to call it. The flowers are lovely.
OH! I just love the bark! It'd wonderful. And the flower is pretty too. ;-)
Jan - the part on the bark that looks moldy is lichen.Living in Southwest Georgia - crepe myrtle is in abundance. Beautiful pictures!
It does look pretty though... the flowers are very nice!! Great photography, Dot.
One of my favorites, Dot. They grow in such a wide variety of climes too. Pappy
I have never seen Crepe Myrtle before. It's beautiful and you're right the bark is too.
Hi Dot, Nice colour pink and was'nt the myrthe a part of a love flower? Or am I mistaken...Happy weekend from JoAnn/Holland(almost back from holiday)
Hi Dot, I'm back. Beautiful pictures.
I just love crepe myrtles. It just looks like home when I see the purple, lavenders, and white blooms in the summer.Beautiful photos.Have a great weekend.
It sure is pretty. I have 5 crepe myrtle's in my yard, all pink. The larger it gets, the prettier it gets.
Nice pictures!! Thanks to you I now know what that plant is called. :-)It's in bloom all over the place around here too.
:) We love the Crepe Myrtles! We have '51', and a variety of colors. The light pink is my favorite color!Junie
Amazing photographs with beautiful colours and nuances. The mushroom in the trunke is fantastic!
Crepe Myrtle's are beautiful. You captured this one well.
We have lots of crepe myrtles here. Our neighbor's trees are shedding like crazy! ~Kelli
Absolutely stunning pictures. So glad I dropped by!
Dot: That Crepe Myrtle is really pretty.
Both the peeling bark and the flower are just gorgeous!
The Crepe Myrtle sheds its bark to rid itself of pests -- like the lichen which is so decorative and part of the reason we like the trees!
