I thought this spider was dead since it had been there a couple days before I got around to taking it's picture. Today there was no sign of the web or spider. The first shot is the front and the second is the back. The two pink spots are four o'clocks that were in the back ground.

They are really good photos, Dot, but I'm not a fan of spiders ... *shiver*

Your spiders and webs are always terrific; but I think this one is exceptional!
i'm with Michele on this one, great pix but glad i didn't get up close and personal with it. It looks like the orb weaver spiders we get here. I am always fascinated by the thicker zigzig line they make to the middle of the web.
very nice one
Wow! Those are so crystal clear. Wonderful shots.
I'd say that the way you took the picture is reaaalllyyy great, BUT...this is a spider,a big one , with plenty of legs, and ...I'm running away veeeery fast!
Splendid insect, most excellent hunter, very beautiful the photographs!
Great shots. Looks like a mega-spider, that could conquer worlds.
LOL!
Dot, it seems like you and I have a lot of contacts with spiders. I recently had some new spider encounters too and was thinking of posting them!
These are good! I always like to see spiders and their webs!!

Aren't they amazing architects in silk thread?
Great shots, Dot. I've been on the lookout for spiders and webs to try shooting, but I haven't seen any yet. Too much rain here, I suspect. Or I'm looking in all the wrong places.
Eeeeek! THUD...
Huh, where am I? Oh, I remember now... I clicked over to Dot's place and then I saw the spider (shudder) and then it got dark and then (swoon)... I'll be OK.
Seriously, great shots. Those creepy critters used to scare the bejeebers out of me, whenever we went berry picking. I'm off to dry my sweaty palms now... NeXt time, give a girl a warning, would ya?! ;-)
These are fascinating pictures! I love the zigzag lines of the web - wonderful photos, Dot.
I am never trying again to shoot a web cause it will never compare to these shots .. WOW

You sure do take some great photos of spiders, i am not fond of them but like looking at yours
As for my critter shot this morning i don't know what happend to them they weren't there when i looked either, but they were when i posted them. Oh well i had to add them again. Has to be a blogger thing, so come back and check out Tom Tom now.
Dot,
Great shot of a garden spider. I've also heard them called writing spiders, if they write your name, you're dead. lol
Scary, huh?
Spiders give me the creepie crawlies if I am too close but I do like to see them in pictures. These ones are great Dot! I just hope the spider didn't follow you inside!
Thanks for your visit to mine!
Magnificent close ups. The details is astonishing.
WOW!
(I see you have a couple of spam comments. . .
