I stopped at the Georgia Welcome Center on my way home from South Alabama and they had these signs up promoting the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in Macon. Do you recognize any of these musicians?

Glad you're home. That is a really good promotion for the Hall of Fame. Love all the bright colors.
Oh yes, I recognize them, but didn't know where they were from - I'm glad I know now! Interesting!!!
Ha, I never knew there was such a thing as Georgia music. And I do recognize some of the musicians, the names help though.
I didn't realize all these singers were from Georgia. Alan Jackson is probably my favorite one.
BTW, while you were in Alabama, one of my younguns was up your way. I veered way away from Selma and posted a North Georgia Appalachian Trail photo today.
I'm glad that GA is getting a hall of fame, so many wonderful talented singers are from there. I especially love that tall blonde good looking hunk of a man Alan Jackson. Let me tell you this. I might be 55 years old and happily married but I would run away with him in a heat beat lol
Dot: I knew them all except B-52. Alan Jackson is one of my personal favorites.
I did, I did! What a nice idea. Georgia does seem to have a lot of em!
Even if I'm so far from you, I know Little Richard, Usher, James Brown, the B-52's and , the best of all, Ray Charles! This last is the only one from which I knew he was from Georgia.
(for Picture This, I'll do my best NOT to post benches...it would be easy too much!..Ü)
Some awesome artists for sure
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
I had no idea Georgie was home to so many talented musicians. The posters are wonderfully bright and cheerful!
Welcome home! All the best to your family during this joyous season!
Hi
Welcome back, I do recognize five of them, not bad. lol
Welcome home. Lot's of talent from Georgia.
Thanks for your nice comment about my blog.
Wow, I did not know these were all from Georgia.
Glad to see you made it home safe and sound.
Whoo-Hoo!
B-52's - 'Tin Roof! Rusted!' (Love Shack)
Brenda Lee ("Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree") is also from Georgia, a great singer. I read an article a while back, many feel that she would have climbed higher in her career - but at the time she was competing with the country music scene, specifically, Patsy Cline. And there was Loretta too... In my opinion, these 3 lead the way, made the music industry much better for women (in all genres), which until their time, was mainly dominated by males.
p.s.) Merry Christmas!
Some of those musicians are legends. I didn't know they are from GA.
Some big names here!
All genre of music too.
Glad you're home safely.
I wish you, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Wow! I had no idea that some of those folks were from right next door. I have a theory that we raise really good singers in the south because they learn to sing in church!
Thank you Dot for your greetings! I wish to you and to your family a Happy Christmas and a Wonderful New Year, too!
Welcome home
Recognized the 'older' performers .. sigh
:-Daryl
Gotta love those Southern people :) Take care Dot!
I live in Macon, and we love both the Georgia Music Hall of Fame and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, which are nearly side by side in downtown Macon.
The Music Hall of Fame has a wonderful collection of items from all sorts of music genres. It is well worth the visit if you are ever in Macon or passing through on the way to Florida!
You know when we went to Tennessee to the Grand Ole Opry I couldn't believe all the banners and billboards they had along the freeways for miles and miles promoting the stars. Yup i recognize the stars
Hope you had a good christmas
I knew Ray Charles was from there. I bought his movie when it was very expensive. He sure contributed to the music world even tho he had his drug problems.
Georgia is one of the states I have not visited yet.
