We thought this might be oats.
Have you ever seen such pretty colored weeds? I imagine they have a name but I call them weeds.

Here you can see how sandy the soil is. We thought we were going to sneak up on this turkey.
But he spotted us and took off! These pictures were taken in Pierce and Appling Counties.

I would be interesting to see all those fields from the sky above. It must give a colorful patchwork of flowers,grasses and weeds, and different kinds of lands.I find the turkey funny!Is it wild? here, we find them only in farms..

I call them weeds, too, but they are pretty! There is this pinkish-purple weed here that has the fields pretty. I keep wanting to find a place to stop, but seems like the best are along a busy highway.

The first time I head of red soil, we had traveled to Texas to see my married sister there. I did not care for it at all. I am sure those weeds to you have certain names and probably Katney could identify them. Ü

I love the fields, so sweet looking. That turkey must have taken a wrong turn somewhere to be out in the open alone! As for the Vidalias, since they're not in Vidalia are they labeled as "Vidalia-ish"?

The red ones may be Indian Paintbrush --since we had them when I lived in Texas.

I've learned it's impossible to sneak up on turkeys. ;-) Te ;and is very flat, isn't it? I didn't know Vidalia onions had to grow in a certain area!

The red 'flowers' may be the seed heads of Red Sorrell, a weed. I can't be sure without seeing close ups. It is spectacular en masse, but not a desirable plant.
The yellow flowers are Wild Mustard, unmistakable noxious weed. Cattle won't eat it.
I think the grain is rye. Oats has a bunch of little seed heads on each stem, more flat looking. If not rye, then wheat. Rye is taller than wheat.
Your 'weeds' photo and clover photo remind me of Claude Monet's landscape paintings. Lovely.
Is that a turkey? I thought it was a mini-ostrich. It looks like the Roadrunner. I swear our turkeys are shorter and stockier. (It must be those Dutch thighs... :-D)
