Mary Hill Dumplings

I have no idea if Mary Hill is a real person and I'm not trying to advertise for the company but I just discovered that this company is located in Hazelhurst, Georgia. I don't know many people who can make real dumplings now days and some of the best cooks I know use these. Around here they are available in the frozen food section at Wal Mart. They are really good and I'm sure I'll be enjoying some of these wonderful dumplings for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I appreciate all of you who are stopping by to view my blog and leave comments. I have moved and I'm not able to post photos at present.

This is good, and I will be looking for these. My family loves dumplings, and my grandmother had them often, home made of course.
Have a great day Dot.

I've always made my own. I had no idea you could buy them. I don't think we can buy them here.

The motto is good, but in a strange place!I'm not sure that people who use drugs will use dumplings and read the message!.
Glad to see back to your blog, I was missing you!!

Never heard of these. I'll have to give them a try. I do make real dumplings on stew in the winter. We love them. Good comfort food that sticks to the ribs.

Love her motto! My grandmother used to make her own dumplings, but that was a long time ago.

I'm not a big fan of dumplings. No one in my family ever made them.

Oh!! I love chicken/dumplings! I have never tried to make them but we have some folks in Alabama who sure know how! :) A niece usually makes a big pot for our family reunion each year.

I usually buy Sweet Sue- which is very good! (canned) They had a plant in Athens, Alabama where they were made...but I think that place closed down! :( I'll look for yours that you've told us about here!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I have never heard of this brand. The next time I'm at Walmart, I'll check to see if it's in my area. How did it taste? Happy Thanksgiving!

I don't know about Mary Hill dumplings, I've never tried them (but I might) but I know my Grandmothers made the best homemade dumplings - OMG - what I would do to have a big pot of their chicken and dumplings!

Hi Dot. I like the saying on the front. Next time I'm in Walmart I'll see if they have them. I bet they're pretty good.

Hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

My Mom made dumplings and we often had chicken and dumplings.

I've had those, they're good!
Not exactly health food, but tasty nonetheless. I remember my grandmother making homemade dumplings. Pretty sure she used lard.

That would probably not sell very well around here. Maryhill is the name of a cemetery.

Funny place for that motto. I wonder if there is a back story.

Hi Dot, I just wanted to wish you a wonderful and Happy Holiday season.

Hi! A friend sent me by your blog. I actually live in Hazlehurst, GA. Mary Hill is very real and is still alive today. She was encouraged to sell her homemade dumplings and that's when she started up. The company is actually located VERY close to my work and is a small building.

I use these dumplings and love them!

To The Hill: We used to live in Hazlehurst, and have enjoyed Mary Hill Dumplings for years. We had heard that Cracker Barrel used Mary Hill Dumplings. Is that true?

Mary Hill was in fact a real person. The Dumpling Shop where she used to make them has been sold. I am from Hazlehurst and remember when she started selling them. Wish I could find them in Kentucky.

Mary Hill dumplings are the best!

I live in Hazlehurst and the only dumplings I will eat are Mary Hill..that is the only kind my mama and my whole family would ever cook. We own my grandma's house that was across the road from the old Mary Hill shop. It is pretty small and has since moved across the road, beside our house, in a slightly bigger shop. It is pretty neat that people from all over are enjoying these wonderful dumplings, started from a sweet lady in a small south Georgia town.

Hello, I live an hour or so from Hazlehurst and I can testify that Mary Hill was a real person! She died six years ago, unfortunately, but her family carries on the legacy.
