Stuckie the Mummified Dog

First, I'd like to say that this is a true story. Stuckie is in this log at the Southern Forest World Museum in Waycross, Georgia.

Some years ago there was a contest held to name this dog and "Stuckie" is the name that was selected. You can read his story below.

If you aren't squeamish and want to see more of what he looks like click on the link.

See Stuckie

I wonder if they ever found the owner of the dog?

Mama it had to be about 15 years ago when we took the boys....so when do they assume this happened? I wonder how that tree got down here in a museum? Neat!

Poor dog stuck there all those years and now for eternity. Interesting how he was mummified while gritting his teeth.

I feel bad for that poor o'l dog. I have to laugh though when I think of the first person to look inside that hollow log and see what I saw in your link. SOMEBODY had to go home and change their drawers that day!!

At first I thought maybe he was sick and just crawled in a whole but after looking at the pic I wonder if he was chasing something and really did get stuck.
What a post Dot! :)

What a sad and scary story for the poor dog! I've never heard of that happening before.

Poor dog - looks like to me that he/she was trying to climb out. It's amazing that the dog was preserved so well.

Stuckie was not petrified, he was mummified in a petrified tree.
There's some pretty stupid comments here too.
