K'ville, Georgia

K'ville is a small community in Wayne County Georgia. If you blink your eyes you might miss it.

I passed through several times before I noticed this cute little store called Grace Dewey's Place. It's closed and I don't know any history of the place.

This sign is on the front of the building.

This is located on one end.
Then there is this cute little voting precinct.
Next door is this leaning shed that looks to still be in use. The best things are sometimes found on the back roads.

I agree that the back roads often lead to the most interesting places. Thanks for taking us to K'ville.

Nice to see you back! I love to see these out of the way places. Funny, the nice cozy restaurant is closed, but the leaning shed is still used.

The store seems so small and frail!
it may end like the leaning house ..
Glad to see you back on blogs, Dot!

I love to see these old buildings in the country, especially when they've been abandoned like the barn; great painting fodder.

It's great to have you back! I love the pictures, especially the cute little store -looks so cosy- and the old Coca-Cola sign.

The shed looks a bit unsafe. I would recommend you not to enter, just in case it would fall like a house of cards!

Little old towns on country roads are sometimes the best. Peaceful and they don't care much how the wold is changing so fast.

Please send me your email again. I have lost your address.

An abbreviated name for an abbreviated place.

Love these pictures. My in-laws actually were born and raised in K'ville, so I have been there many times and heard some wonderful depression era stories about life in this rural community. I came upon your site through the "Georgia on my Mind" blog. What a coincidence that you had just recently posted these pics! Thanks.

Nice views, I like the blue coca cola sign.

This is why I enjoy taking surface roads instead of the freeways – you can find little treasures like this.

Is that last one on 341? I either seen it or its twins...maybe the others are, too....but I don't remember them.

Can't wait to go through K'Ville. I was very close the other day! Great shots.

I feel comforted by the thought that you capture these buildings before they are all gone!

I have never seen a blue Coca Cola sign before!

When I lived in GA, I was constantly out on the back roads. Sad that I wasn't much of a photographer back then.

Loved the photo of the Grace and Dewey Thornton store in K'Ville, Georgia. These are relatives and I visited this store as a small child and later as an adult traveling from PA. Grace was a lovely person and I shall never forget her hospitality. Her daughter Selena reopened the store but closed it again after being robbed. Thank you for bringing back some wonderful memories of my mother's Georgia ancestry (she passed away in November). I also visited the Alma Thornton store while traveling with my granny to visit her relatives/friends in K'Ville. Hope this gives you some history of the store. Bob Westberry
