Great photos, Dot. I thought it was mustard at first. I don't think we have rape growing here.

Glad to see you posting again Dot. I had to look up what a "rape field" was. It looks like spring has come your way, today we woke up to it snowing ;(

My Mom says her great aunt used to buy this plant and mix it with other greens. I didn't even know what it was. The yellow flowers it brings forth are just lovely! The whole field is stunning!

Hi Dot!
I got your question and answered it. I'm curious to know if you get an email telling you that from formspring. We're camped on a mountain for several weeks and I can get email, but can't send it.
So, I'm contacting you through one of your blogs. Anyway, oddly enough, I know exactly the place you asked about. Even more odd is the fact that we were there less than a week ago. It's called Slab City. A few miles outside of Niland, close to the Salton Sea. I took a bunch of pics and will be doing a blog post on it very soon! Hope you are doing well.
