Hop A Train

I took my mother to a beauty shop that was located right by a railroad track. While she was getting her hair done I heard a train coming so I ran to my car and grabbed the camera. I saw an engine coming that I had never seen before and I thought "oh boy, my lucky day"! Just as I raised the camera to try and get a shot a CSX came from the opposite direction and blocked the view of the other train. You can see the blue of one of the cars. I guess I can say that was a "bad hair day"!

When I was younger I always wanted to "hop a train". Anyone else ever want to do that?

Coal Train

My husband says he's never known of any kind of train except a coal train to go thru the small town we live near.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe

Most of the trains we see in this area are from the Norfolk Southern Railroad (Catfish). I was happy to find this Burlington Northern Santa Fe engine sitting on the tracks in a nearby town a few days ago. It had two Catfish engines hooked behind it.

I'd like to thank everyone who participated in Sky Watch yesterday. I've never seen such beautiful pictures of the sky. If you didn't visit everyone on the list you missed some really good ones.

Look a Yonder Coming!

I'm becoming a railfan! I took this photo last year down in the central part of the state. I love the blue color. I've tried to find out something about the engine but I can't. Maybe some of you will know.
