Headed for the Beach
We saw a lot of these little fiddler crabs about the size of a quarter. They would all march in one direction until something or someone got in their way and then they would all turn and march in the other direction. It was fun to watch them.
The salt water marshes
We had to walk over the sand dunes and were told not to wander off the paths
At last! We see the beach ahead!

I didn't realize you were an ABC photographer.
Me too!

Crabs do funny things at times. ;)
Lovely pics.
Wow! You have been a bit busy lately. Your pictures are beautiful Dat. It sounds like you are having a great time on the Island.

Lovely photos! What is an ABC photographer?
Have fun at the beatch!
I guess at one time the Island grew rice?
Beautiful photos.
But oh no. ,-) Those poor little crabs can be that easily distracted from their route? At first I thought they were being drawn right to the ocean.

I have seen little crabs but not that many at the same time.
The salt water marsh is beautiful.
And the sand dunes made a pretty picture too. I know you and Tina had a wonderful time exploring the Island.
Your beach is so different from ours dot. A lovely walk there!

PS I am having a celebration tomorrow...40,000 visitors!
Am making the sandwiches now! LOL!
Very cool, I especially like your story about the little marching crabs!
All the pictures are wonderful as usual. Those little crabs must have been fun to watch :-)
Those crabs must have been very interesting to watch.I hve never seen anything like that.I love all of your pictures.I can tell you had a nice time exploring the island.
Fantastic shots Dot! I've seen those crabs on the TV. The sand shot is really dramatic. It looks like a beautiful place to take a long stroll.
Love the crab picture Dot, not something I see that often.
The Marsh grass is beautif.. I would love to stand and watch the breeze blowing it about. This pathway to the beach looks a fantastic place for my old Land rover.... though I det vehicals would not be allowed.
The crabs are strolling through Georgia too.
Love the beach and any thing to do with the coast.nice place to be Dot, well done
Re: Your comment in a blog of mine... I agree, it would be nice if we could correct a typo in a comment. But the only way, is to delete and send another. :-) No problem.
The only important thing is for me to say thank you for stopping by, and for commenting.

I'm so enjoying these pictures and wish I could be with you!! Love walking in places like that. Those little crabs are just too cute, I can imagine how much fun it was watching them:-) xox
That's a great series. It made me want to dig my toes in the sand while sitting and watching the crabs walk sideways and the grasses blow.
What a great series of photos you took on your way to the beach.
Oh, before I forget, I used to read some in the evenings, but now I'm computer-addicted also. My reading goes on a lunch at work, though.
Ahhh...those white sand dunes make me miss the ocean so much!! :)
Cute crabs! :)
Great photos, it feels like home.
Nice photos from the beach.
Love no. 3! :)
