Welcome to Sky Watch Friday!
How to participate in Sky Watch
1. Post your sky picture on your blog. You do not have to use a picture with only the sky in it and the picture can be taken whenever and not just on Friday.
2. Come to my blog and sign in on Mr. Linky
3. Enjoy the beautiful sky pictures of the other bloggers.
There is a new Mr. Linky each week so you always have to sign up on the current one. Please do not sign your name on Mr. Linky unless you have a sky picture posted on your blog.
Buzzards (vultures) live in the town of Tallapoosa, Georgia year round.
Each year in November vultures from the northern states migrate south because their food supply (dead animals)is covered by snow and hard to find.
They have several favorite trees in Tallapoosa they roost in.They also roost in this tower behind city hall. In March they travel back to the northern states. The town of Hinckley, Ohio has an annual buzzard day and festival to welcome them back.
Please play fair!!! Do not put your name on Mr. Linky unless you intend to visit other participants and leave comments. This is not intended to be free advertising for anyone but a fun thing for all. I'll delete names with incorrect addresses, and inappropriate posts.

Lots and lots of birds, great photos for the sky watch.
Always you impress with your ideas.
He is splendid set from the photographs with the birds,
Now that's quite a lot of birds...
Great idea.
The Birds! The Birds! Sorry couldn't resist. You have the best bird photos! Love it...
Is my first time in the Sky Watch Friday and am somewhat imaginative that only reminded me of flowers ... In the sky, of course:)
Ok, that would be really neat to see. I've not seen so many birds in one spot before. At least not sitting around in trees. Very cool!
And me, I'm wondering what the sound was like with this particular community.
They (buzzards) may not be popular with some people, but I'm always fascinated to see a bird in flight. Maybe envious is a better word.
Great photos of those buzzards. Good storyline too!
I love this type of shot with the starkness of bare winter trees - and the birds make it come alive!
For Sky Watch Friday..
I have a picture with the title: Bird and Sky". Enjoy..
Love your pictures,
Gisela
Dot,
These are amazing shots. I've never seen so many of these guys gathered like this! This presentation is surreal. I love it.
Man, those are a lot of vultures! We are a bit obsessed with them at our house...always calling one out while driving, but we've never seen that many! Great pictures!
Hugs,
Kelli
Dot,
That's an interesting post about the buzzards. I saw one today feeding on a road killed deer in the woods across from the house. I don't know why I didn't take the time to photograph it. It is great that you posted this info. on the same day that I saw my first one of the season.
WOW... that's just crazy.. I love that one with in flight... I can't believe how many there are... that would be just really scary, I think!
The Rocky Mountain Retreat
Oooh that many vultures in one place together is kind of creepy, but your photos are awesome.

WOW! Just stunning photos! Well done!
That last pictures is some kind of roost.
We have turkey vultures here, now that is a scary site.
Great pictures!
Amazing pics, especially the last one. Didn't realize that 'buzzard' meant 'vulture' in the US. Here in the UK, our buzzards are a type of large hawk.
Must be Bird Friday. You have buzzards, I have a hawk.
Wow, that's a lot of birds. Nice photos!!
I see lots of them taking my daughter to school every morning. I much prefer to see them from afar than close up.
Dot, I don't have time to visit all the sky watchers...I try to look at some, but still work. I will not post anymore. I am sorry but do not have enough time to visit them all. I really enjoy looking at those I have time to and see so many different views of the world. i love the Norway photos and the guy in UK.
I work everyday. Leave at 7 and thirty. Don't get home until 4. I know that is not late but I try to walk. I have to feed and tend to my chickens and animals. I could respond to 10 sky photos but not 100...you are just too popular girl. Out of my Arky league!
It was fun...to meet you on Fridays for awhile.
Sister

Very interesting post!
Many birds, just like Alfred Hitchcock's Birds. Even better.
Hi Dot,
Brilliant photos,great sky watch
Dot - I'm amazed at how many buzzards there are in those shots. Intrigued that they have a welcome day as well - and I wonder if their decision to ``adopt'' the tower interferes with reception in any way!
Happy to see no vultures around here at the moment.
I am still alive and feel fine.
WoW! So many birds!! it must be interesting to look when they are coming and when they are leaving this place!
I just love your photo to day:)

Tom..
Peters is here at the moment and says Hi as well. My coffee must be good. :O)
In a song we sing about the birds who uses their mind an go south. Hopefully they will use their mind to come north again as well:-)
I am seeing them everywhere here in central PA. It feels like the movie "The Birds". I've seen them before here but there seems to be so many more this year than ever before. I like your pole picture with the birds hanging out on it.
I have never seen so many vulturs in one tree! Normally around here there are just two or so in a tree.
And I had no idea they migrated.
Very interesting!!!!
This reminds me of Hitchcock's The Birds...
great shots!
Yes, definitely Hitchcockian! Great shots.
Did Hitchcock see this? LOL. Great shots as always, dot!
I love the mobile tree!
Incredible, so many buzzards in one place!
Your birds are stunning...
Thank you so,for your visit...Happy weekend.
Wow! These are dramatic pictures! Love them!
Well, this is fun! This is my first time for Sky Watch. I'm going to enjoy visiting the other participants today. Thanks for starting this.
I love your black and white photos!
I don't suppose it's dangerous being around them if they feed on dead animals.
I thought those black things were part of the trees. But still they are a stunning sight!
ohhh I really like your pictures
Birds and trees against sky; beautiful pictures.
Wow, like the movie.
We have hawks and small eagles living on the ariel polls near us, but my photos of them haven't come out so hot yet.
Wow look at all those birds. I feel like I am in a hitchcock movie! lol.
Your SWF shots are always so great.
we have those here too, Dot. Great shots :)
Sky shots are right up my alley... I've even got some from tornado alley. I will try to participate each week!!! :O)

Wow, there's just so many... shiver... kind of creepy, but awesome in a way :)
Hooray, I'm number 96... :) Late getting around to things this week! I guess the vultures stop at the border since they aren't snowbirds.
Well Dot... this really dose get better and better. I added my mate John to Sky Watch... he must not know about Mr. Linky. I hope you don't mind..
I have plenty of time on my hands Dot... I try to visit each and everyone of the other Sky Watchers but I don't know how others manage it or find the time. ha!
Have a great weekend... Glad you enjoyed my sheep... I agree about the humour.. I may start up a Silly Saturday..
Man those are alot of Buzzards. And I thought we had alot of them here. They not a very pretty bird, but I quess they have a job to do.
Thanks for the comment on my mom!
Wow that last shot makes me think of "The Birds", lol. Great shots. Always great shots.
Posts I love! Fascinating information, wonderful photographs. And that last photo is stunning with the angles and perspective. I'm thinking I never see buzzards here. I have to keep an eye out for them in the summer. There is the occasional turkey buzzard. Thank you!
Hi Dot - it is almost midnight my time, and I just couldn't stop myself from coming back here to leave you another comment. At midnight my time, you have 99 Sky Watch posts this week (just one shy of 100 - makes me want to go start another blog LOL). I just wanted to tell you that Sky Watch Friday is one of my favorite memes ever, and I truly look forward to it each week. I think that having nearly 100 participating blogs is quite the testament to what you have started here! I just wanted to let you know that I noticed and I commend you for what you have created. Thanks for giving me such a fun and beautiful thing to participate in each week.

and open on 113... So Sorry Thanks.
Good photos and quit birds.
I like it.
Have to see how this works.
Great idea! Thank you!
The birds in the communications tower remind me that we coexist in this world... people don't like these cellphone towers in their backyards but the birds seem to love them for the view!
