Oh Say Can You See!
I really enjoy looking for water towers when I'm traveling. Many of them look alike but occasionally I find something a little different. I found this one in Loxley, Alabama which just happens to be the place of my birth.
Thanks to all of you who have visited my blog for Sky Watch Friday. When I started it I was afraid no one would participate and never really expected it to grow like it did. I'm so thankful to Tom for keeping it going and giving me a rest. So if anyone doesn't know by now Tom is the new Sky Watch host. Visit him and enjoy!

Thanks for starting this Dot! It really is a fun blog carnival. Blessings on your rest. Have a wonderful Easter...
That flag sure does look good wit that water tower. Nice Sky Watch Friday picture.
Love that blue sky and with the flag against it, it's just lovely.
Happy Spring and Happy Easter, Dot!
I have to echo Ellen's sentiment - thank you soo..oo much for Sky Watch. I am so glad I found it and I LOVE the whole concept.
Now, your pic is gorgeous. The compostition of the tower and trees with the sky and the flag colors is wonderful.
and...the red dirt road was awesome!
Wonderful water tower. You have inspired many of us to look for these things and enjoy!
It's nice blogger friends can share the load and the road. You're an inspiration.
You know how to pace yourself, Dot. A vacation and then a switch off of Sky Watch Fridays. I think you're smart.
Very cool! You know what you've started? Whenever I see a water tower when we are out driving... I think of you! I need to have the camera with so I can get some shots of them.
SkyWatch Friday really has turned into something huge and fun. Thanks for getting it started.
Love this water tower shot too.
I think of you every time I see a water tower now. :-)
Ah... the town Robin is from. Robin of Loxley aka Robin Hood... :)
My maternal grandfather's half of the family are from Dothan, so I'm only one generation removed from my Alabama blood, but still have my Alabama temper - not as bad as my mother, though. ;-)
Thanks for getting this going. I really look forward to Fridays because of this. Wonderful photo here. Have a great Easter.
Another nice tower! Have a wonderful Easter weekend! :D
Very good shot!

Love the water tower! Y'all have me looking for them!
I am very glad you started Sky Watch. I was just sitting her thinking how fun it is to have a reason for all these pictures I take! lol
Enjoy your rest.
I love your water tower. I especially like the effect of the budding branches.
You sure have me looking for water towers, hope you have a good rest and maybe you will find something else that you would like to start.
Happy Easter to you
Dot, I guess telling you that we are all much happy you started this idea will do no harm ...
Nice SKY WATCH.
Easter greetings.
This is a great picture, Dot!The siver grey and the blue sky is so perfect!
I have posted my photo for this week too, but I have a (big) problem. I can not find Mr. Linky in your SWF post. I could't find it on Tom's blog last week either or on ABC Wednesday, so Ida have to put me on the list.
I don't know if it is my computer or something else...
Could you please sign me up on mr. Linky?
Is it only me with this problem???
Thank you!!!
Very nice shot, Dot. This is my first sky watch and will see how it works out.
happy easter.
Water towers? A great idea to go off in search of something. We were talking last night, hubby & I and we are going to look for bridges now! LOL!
P.S. Forgot to say thanks for skywatch Friday dot!
happy Easter to you and yours.

Hi Dot
Great to have you back posting your Sky Watch pictures.. The water tower is a bonus.
Sky Watch will always be yours... your idea all these Fridays ago as helped many bloggers to express themselves and as given joy to many more. Friendships have been formed and boundaries crossed. Your idea has paved the way for many friendships to be formed across the globe. Sky Watch grows steadily each week as more people join in. You did that Dot... Your idea all those Fridays ago is now whizzing around the world bringing friendship and fun each week. I think it is something to be very proud of Dot. I will host it with pride each week knowing you are there to help and advise... Thank you Dot.
Tom xx
Thanks for starting Sky Watch Friday... I look forward to it!
Love the water tower... I just did a post at my Prairie Dreams blog about the new water tower going up this week in our town, after the town was destroyed last year in a tornado... Sure is a good thing to see that tower up again!
Hello there!
Fantastic sky and image. Have a wonderful Easter!!
Great sky watch.
Starting this movement was one excellent idea, thank you for all of this.
Dot,
As so many have said, thanks for starting Skywatch, it certainly is an inspiring!
I love the beautiful blue sky in this shot. It seems here in Pa most of our skies have been gray for months.
I hope my blog isn't misleading; we took a few days vacation in Fl visiting out son Chad. I have been posting my Florida series ever since.
I like doing Sky Watch, it gives me something to photograph and I look up now all the time.
Welcome Dot!
Marvellous the post, after photograph is marvellous and your return given!
Happy Easter!
Dot,
thank you for starting Sky Watch and for your visit and comment.
I love participating..your picture is wonderful.
Wish you a very Happy Easter!
Dot: This was a great idea. After two weeks I feel right at home and I feel at home at Tom's sight. I really love the tower and sky picture.
Beautiful blue through the branches, flag and water tower. MB
Dot, but I'm glad you're still participating! I really enjoy Skywatch Friday and I'm glad I found you and now Tom! Happy holiday weekend! :D
Some of our neighbors were telling us that there is going to be a water tower put in on our road right near us!
Happy Friday and good to see ya!
It's BIG and beautiful and would have thunk that water towers would be so picturesque?!? Very nice photo, Dot.
I'm always interested to see how the different town's decorate their towers. We travel a lot by auto so we see these a lot. Great photo.
Yes it is amazing how many skywatchers there are, thank you for starting this. And thanks Tom for taking over for a while.
Nice picture and have Happy Easter.
Great.
I like take photos too.

That's a nice sky, goes well with the water tower! Happy Easter!
nice! happy easter.
I can't wait to take a tour of S GA's water towers. They have such a charm about them! Great shot, Dot!
Thanks for starting this great idea, Dot. You built it into a fun community. I can see that it's a bit of work though, getting around to every post each and every week.
I'm fascinated by water towers too. My township (92 square miles) has several and one has nothing printed on it because no one can agree whether the community's or the township's name should be on it. Ha! A controversial water tower!hoyvhm
This is a beautiful photo of the watertower, Dot. I imagine it can be a challenge when you find a cool water new watertower, and the photographic conditions are less than favorable. I like the idea of finding something for a long term theme. Happy Easter, Dot.
Your picture is very interesting, it look likes a 'Nasa Project' because of color and shape! Very different for me!
tks for comment at my firs post on "Sky Watch Friday".
Happy Eastern!
It's all right, Dot! Eveything is OK today. I can see Mr. Linky.
Very nice shot, Dot.
Happy Easter.
Love the blue sky around that gorgeous water tower! I presume that the flag is painted on or is it a sculpture attached? Love the 3-D look of the flag anyway.
When I first discovered Friday Sky Watch, you were off traveling and had a blogroll on the side and I just joined in. I have always taken photos of the sky but now I have a purpose and challenge each week to post them. Thanks for getting this started and finding a terrific replacement for getting Mr. Linky up and hosting this challenge.
I have mine linked to Tom now and he is doing a wonderful job but Sky Watch will always be your baby.
Great photo! Happy Easter!
water towers - interesting subject - you don't see those here in New York.
Good capture. Thanks for visiting my skywatch.
Hi Dot,
That's a lovely picture. Hope you are enjoying your break and your time with your family.Have a lovely Easter.
You do have a talent for these photos and I enjoy every single one. It's strange, isn't it, how we individually have favorite shots we like to take? This sky is brilliant, and there is definitely the promise of spring in the tree. You enjoy your rest. You began a wonderful photographic adventure for me! And I will be seeing you just like always!
Very interesting!!
Happy Easter to you!
Wonderful photo!
Nice blue sky behind that Tower. I haven't been doing the skywatch for very long, but I do enjoy it. Thanks for creating a great idea!
I LOVE water towers. They are such a part of the American landscape. Thanks for sharing yours.
Here's a link to one I posted awhile back. If you're interested. :)
