Oh Say Can You See!

I really enjoy looking for water towers when I'm traveling. Many of them look alike but occasionally I find something a little different. I found this one in Loxley, Alabama which just happens to be the place of my birth.

Thanks to all of you who have visited my blog for Sky Watch Friday. When I started it I was afraid no one would participate and never really expected it to grow like it did. I'm so thankful to Tom for keeping it going and giving me a rest. So if anyone doesn't know by now Tom is the new Sky Watch host. Visit him and enjoy!

Now, your pic is gorgeous. The compostition of the tower and trees with the sky and the flag colors is wonderful.

You know how to pace yourself, Dot. A vacation and then a switch off of Sky Watch Fridays. I think you're smart.

Very cool! You know what you've started? Whenever I see a water tower when we are out driving... I think of you! I need to have the camera with so I can get some shots of them.

Ah... the town Robin is from. Robin of Loxley aka Robin Hood... :)

My maternal grandfather's half of the family are from Dothan, so I'm only one generation removed from my Alabama blood, but still have my Alabama temper - not as bad as my mother, though. ;-)

This is a great picture, Dot!The siver grey and the blue sky is so perfect!
I have posted my photo for this week too, but I have a (big) problem. I can not find Mr. Linky in your SWF post. I could't find it on Tom's blog last week either or on ABC Wednesday, so Ida have to put me on the list.
I don't know if it is my computer or something else...
Could you please sign me up on mr. Linky?
Is it only me with this problem???
Thank you!!!

Thanks for starting Sky Watch Friday... I look forward to it!

Love the water tower... I just did a post at my Prairie Dreams blog about the new water tower going up this week in our town, after the town was destroyed last year in a tornado... Sure is a good thing to see that tower up again!

Dot,
As so many have said, thanks for starting Skywatch, it certainly is an inspiring!
I love the beautiful blue sky in this shot. It seems here in Pa most of our skies have been gray for months.

I hope my blog isn't misleading; we took a few days vacation in Fl visiting out son Chad. I have been posting my Florida series ever since.

I can't wait to take a tour of S GA's water towers. They have such a charm about them! Great shot, Dot!

Thanks for starting this great idea, Dot. You built it into a fun community. I can see that it's a bit of work though, getting around to every post each and every week.

I'm fascinated by water towers too. My township (92 square miles) has several and one has nothing printed on it because no one can agree whether the community's or the township's name should be on it. Ha! A controversial water tower!hoyvhm

This is a beautiful photo of the watertower, Dot. I imagine it can be a challenge when you find a cool water new watertower, and the photographic conditions are less than favorable. I like the idea of finding something for a long term theme. Happy Easter, Dot.

Love the blue sky around that gorgeous water tower! I presume that the flag is painted on or is it a sculpture attached? Love the 3-D look of the flag anyway.

When I first discovered Friday Sky Watch, you were off traveling and had a blogroll on the side and I just joined in. I have always taken photos of the sky but now I have a purpose and challenge each week to post them. Thanks for getting this started and finding a terrific replacement for getting Mr. Linky up and hosting this challenge.

I have mine linked to Tom now and he is doing a wonderful job but Sky Watch will always be your baby.

You do have a talent for these photos and I enjoy every single one. It's strange, isn't it, how we individually have favorite shots we like to take? This sky is brilliant, and there is definitely the promise of spring in the tree. You enjoy your rest. You began a wonderful photographic adventure for me! And I will be seeing you just like always!
