Friendship is a shiny thing, a steady beam of light A lantern on a lonely street, a song far in the night A smile, a touch of a loving hand, a quiet moment on a hill And, oh, what a happy little child bringing home a daffodil
I remember singing that song! I may have taught it to my Kindergarten kids in fact. Are your daffodils up already? I see our crocus getting ready to bloom. . . I also found a flower- I don't know what it is - but it was blooming on my walk this week. I will post it soon but not tomorrow.
Daffodil! I find that word so funny:) Sounds like a name on an animal! I first learn this name on Wednesday on D for daffodil. The Norwegian name on this flower is "Easter Lily". But your photo is wonderful and it make me long for spring even more...
We just don't have these kinds of things to enjoy around here until the end of March. Sometimes a little before or after and depending on the weather. Nice photo.
Dot..Loved your poem and picture of the daffodil.Have another month to go till my daffodils will be blooming.Snow is in the forecast for tomorrow.Never will forget all of those years we lived in Georgia.Come the end of February it felt like Spring was in the air. Then we moved to the St.Louis.Seemed like Spring would never arrive.Took to around April or May like here in our area of southern West Virginia.

What a sweet poem. Nice picture of the daffodil. I am seeing a lot of them blooming now.
I've never seen them out in nature - just in floral shops. How beautiful!
They just make me happy. Don't they you too?
What a sharp photo! Lovely poem, Dot.

Oh, how I long for our flowers to start popping up! And such a LOVELY LOVELY poem!
I'm looking forward to spring so much. Your lovely daffodils will hold me over until the snow melts.
I'm lovin' that, Dot! How very beautiful. These are my favorite flowers! God bless.
A person could never have too many daffodils, could they? Different bloom times mean we have them from mid-February until April.
Did anybody mention that some of them smell incredibly sweet?
Aaaawww, so sweet.
Dot, don't tell me you worked on barges in southern Alabama!
I remember now where I learned that song first -- at Girl Scout Camp!
A new Daffodil poem.. I've never heard that one before...... a very happy picture for our spring day.
That is a great poem Dot and i am so jealous that you have daffodils already. Did you write the poem?
Nice picture.
The poem is so true. Anytime my grandchildren see a wild flower they always pick them and bring me one. So Cute
I certainly hope it is spring. Winter can never be short enough for my taste. :)
Finally got a water tower picture for you, posted today. Better late than never. Just aren't many around.
In Norway the daffodils are called (approximately) "Lilies of the Easter". Easter comes early this year and so is the spring, but not that early.
I envy you.
They are not blooming here yet. I will be glad to see their yellow popping up.
YOur Daffodils are blooming already WOW
They sure are pretty
Lovely Dot. I took some Daffs this weekend too! Have a look.
Just lovely color!
What pretty flowers! No sign of those around these parts yet. I think we're at 16 degrees right now. :)
