Peony

Our peony had five blooms this year. Can you see the ant? Ants seem to love these flowers.
This one reminds me of peppermint candy!

Beautiful! I have a fushia pink one--and it just has buds right now.
Wonder why ants love them so? I think I have read the reason but can't remember.

Pretty! I especially liked the first shot where you focused on the back bud some...and oh yes, had the ant visitor.

I wish I could bury my nose in those blooms. Mmmm. I love the scent. No buds on MY peonies that I've noticed yet, but the leaves are up so that's a good sign. I imagine the local ants here are starting to get as excited as the one you photographed. ;-)

Dot: You have capured the Peony perfectly. They are a beautiful flower.

I have a white and pink Peony and they are about 2 feet high and have are still growing. It will be a while before we see flowers.

Very well captured. Sometimes photos don't do justice to the subject. Your photos have done it.

I remember these flowers as a little girl with tons of ants always crawling all over them so I always stayed away from them... LOL... but these are very pretty!!

I have an old pink double peony bush that I bought and planted about 40 years ago and since then I have tried my best to dig it up and out and get rid of it but each time I failed and new shoots came up. So this last time I just forgot it and left it there and it has remained, undisturbed, in the same spot for about 20 years. And this year it is huge and absolutely covered with buds ready to pop open.

I took some pictures of the buds today but will follow up with more photos when they open.

Your photographs are very nice. And I like your white better than my double pink.
