We have these same ferns in our woodlands and hedgerows, each leaf is a replica of the plant.. next time have a look at the leaf fronds, each leaf is made from a number of other leaves, and those leaves from others.
I love ferns like these but always have problems keeping them around or alive for more than one season. You seem to have them almost under the building. Determined to make a go of it there.
Ferns are lovely and also have such a long history. In a place with many ferns I always feel transported to dinosaur days on earth. You're lucky to have a wild one.
Gorgeous photo of the ferns! We lived in a tiny red cabin in the woods of NC at one time. We dug up wild ferns from elsewhere on the property and moved them to edge the front porch of the cabin. They thrived and were so beautiful against the barn red cabin exterior paint. xoxo

Ferns are lovely - but they will take over. Lovely picture
I like your wild ferns. I'll bet this would make a great black and white shot. Lots of cool textures.
Love the contrast in teXture ~ delicate fronds against the rough and weathered wood.
Oh i love fern, but here in the desert we don't see it till we go up a bit higher in the mountains about 10 miles away
You mean they grow in places other than large pots? ;)
Fantastic shot!!
I think these ferns belong in Boston!
