Spider Webs

There are lots of spider webs in my mother's yard in south Alabama so I always have to keep my eyes open or I'll walk right through one. I hate the feeling of the web on my face and arms and then I start thinking WHERE IS THE SPIDER???

The webs you find are always so intricate. Since I've been seeing yours I haven't found a one!
These are awesome!

I so hate to walk into a spider web! I know spiders are good and don't go out of my way to kill any except ones that get in the house...but I sure don't like having them on me.

The blue/green colors in the second shot are surreal. Fantastic!

Lovely webs and they look thicker than normal. I hate to see the size of the missing spiders.

I run into spider webs all of the time while walking through the woods - a few times I've found them crawling on me. Those eight legs really creep me out.

Yesterday, while in the garage, I saw that a moth had gotten caught in a spider web that was on the window part of the garage. So I rescued the moth, cleaned the web off of it's wings, set it outside.

No dinner for spider!

btw Dot -

Do you know what kind of tree this is? I like the red limbs, it's very pretty:

You take the BEST photos of spider webs! Very nice.

I'm sure the spider is resting after working on the web. ;-)

Spider webs are fascinating. I like your photos of them.

Sometimes you can use a bottle of water that when you squeeze the handle it will make a misty spray. And use it to make the web show up on a bad day.

The spider webs look like rope. Great detail!!

I am always walking through spider webs along the path in the woods where I walk. It's worse when you're sweating because they really stick to you then!

You are so good at capturing those spider webs. How do you get them to show up so clearly.

The top web is beautiful. I hate running into the webs too. Yesterday there was one on my shopping cart. I didn't notice it until I had the cart half full and the spider climbed up on my hand. Eeek!

Great shot of the web, you do so well in taking them

Great captures of both spider webs. I think the first one is the best. I hate walking through a web too. Awful feeling but more awful than that is to feel the spider crawling on my skin.

I am SO envious of these shots .. I want to 'capture' a spider web that doesnt look like a blur ...

Webs are so amazing. I wonder how the spiders can actually spin such works of art!

How do you catch a web photo that looks so thick and opaque?

You always take the best pictures of spider webs, Dot! They are just beautiful.

These captures are really to marvel at. I don't like walking through webs either but mostly because I don't want to mess up their handiwork!

Dot you have captured the light just right, I hope the spiders stay away!

Amazing captures, dot.

Great Photos - Please stop by and check out my blog. Iowa Nature Photos will now be a photo blog with no caption or commentary. I do not have the time to dedicate to my blog that I have in the past but would still like to post photos. I hope that you will continue to support my blog in the future.

That first web almost looks like a wire sculpture! Great catch! I haven't seen any spider webs this summer.

No kidding - that is one of the worst feelings in the world. I generally leave spiders alone and won't go out of my way to kill them (unless my wife makes me), but if they are on me or possibly on me, they are fair game for tennis shoe poisoning. :)

Quite Beautiful! I think the same thing when I walk through a spider web... where's the spider?

Dick said...

wow, wonderful how they do it, great shots.

I've always thought webs like this were so intricate and delicate. I finally got a couple of shots today that I'll post later, and then later walked right through one. Still shuddering when I think of it. :-(
