This is known to me as Turk's Cap although it has several other names. It's native to Texas and Mexico. If it wasn't easy to grow it wouldn't be in my yard!Visit Luiz to sign Mr. Linky and see beautiful flowers from around the world.

These are really striking in color and presentation.
We had the tail end of Hurricane Ike here all day. I lost my cherry tree and a lot of limbs. The neighbors lost three trees and they fell on a power line and that weight broke the power pole. Not a good day here in SW Ohio.

Yah we are the same...if plants are not easy to grow, they would be in my yard too. LOL
It looks like a hibuscus but I think it is different...just similar. Their leaves are differenth.

I admire the red. I have a real problem getting my camera to capture red. This looks like a hibiscus but I've never seen one with the center sticking out so far from the bud like this one. Nice shots!
