Today's Flowers

This is known to me as Turk's Cap although it has several other names. It's native to Texas and Mexico. If it wasn't easy to grow it wouldn't be in my yard!
Visit Luiz to sign Mr. Linky and see beautiful flowers from around the world.

Beautiful, and a new one for me. I've been thinking I need some red in my garden, but have been too lazy to do anything about it. Maybe I'll get a volunteer, and won't have to decide.

These photos have so much clarity, I feel like I could touch them and feel the texture of the leaves...

These are really striking in color and presentation.

We had the tail end of Hurricane Ike here all day. I lost my cherry tree and a lot of limbs. The neighbors lost three trees and they fell on a power line and that weight broke the power pole. Not a good day here in SW Ohio.

Mine are on Canon Pixels

Dot those are stunning. I have been trying to remember to ask you what kind of camera do you use? and what settings to get all these wonderful photos. Every time I visit your blog I am blown away by what fantastic photos you have.

Such an unusual flower - really gorgeous! I would love to have it in my garden too, but it probably wouldn't grow this far north. Beautiful photos!

The turk's head is so interesting looking! I've never seen one before but it looks like it might be related to the hibiscus. Nice photo,

You seem to have grown them well - and done your pictures well too. The red is a difficult colour.

If you like a white weed, have a look at my site.

I admire the red. I have a real problem getting my camera to capture red. This looks like a hibiscus but I've never seen one with the center sticking out so far from the bud like this one. Nice shots!

Hi Dot,

I know this flower but don't have any of them! I remember them from my early childhood in Miami, Fl (Actually, south Dade co, not the city)

I see them growing around our town here, too!! I should get me one!!
