Today's Flowers

Marigolds are fairly easy to grow and they come back every year. The bees like them too! There is no reason why one picture has a white frame except that I forgot I had framed it.

What gorgeous pics of marigolds! Vibrant colour!

You going back to small photos when you post more than one?

Marigolds are good for the other flowers too. When I was teaching and we planted a garden, we always planted Marigolds among the veggies to ward off "bad" bugs. Nice bee capture also!

PS I looked up your Passion Flower way back in July. It is a different color than mine but when I looked on Google, they said they come in various shades.

I like Marigolds very much. They have got strong and beautiful colours.
I always plant them together with carrots and other vegetables to keep noxious animals away.
Your photos are great Dot! :)

Marigolds are really beautiful. When I see one, I will surely ask for a stem so I can plant it in our garden.

That top photo really does it for me. Thanks for a lovely post. You are lucky that they reseed where you are. Not up here in Seattle!

Fantastic marigolds.

Sorry for not being visiting as often as I wished.
For the moment by I'll have to pay a weekly visit.
Sorry.

In french, marigolds have a strange name; they are called "souci", which means something like "anxiety"!knew The english name is much better, speaking of the gold of this beautyful yellow

Interesting what Perbs says that marigolds were planted among the veggies to ward off bad bugs. I know that garlic in some cases is planted among roses to ward off plant lice.
The photos are splendid.

Beatiful Marigolds.

These margiolds have such thick, hearty petals with a velvety softness. Your photos bring that texture out rather nicely.

A lot of people I know do not like marigolds because of their scent, but I love them, especially because they help keep critters out of the garden.

Neal said...

Dot, those are beautiful. However, I don't like their smell. :)

Beautiful photos.I like marigolds but find they get eaten by slugs so I haven't grown them lately. Maybe I will try again next year.

I just love flowers. I had some yellow marigolds planted in my front flower bed earlier this year. They have died out. Your flowers actually made me think of mums for the fall. Maybe I'll plant some this weekend.
Beautiful pictures as always.

Beautiful Marigolds Dot. They are one of my favorites. Even though it has begun to get cooler up here they remain strong and will until frost. There are just so mnay different colors too.

These are lovely. My grandparents used to plant marigolds in the garden between rows of vegetables. Apparently certain pests don't like the smell of marigolds.

Janet said...

It is said that these bright beauties chase the bad bugs away from the vegetable garden too. Have you ever tried that?

Jen said...

Great clarity in these shots. Beautiful

Gorgeous, vibrant marigolds ~ eXpertly captured! So bright and cheery (a welcome reprieve after all the "sad" shots I've viewed in today's photohunt). ;-)
