I call this very common lily a native day lily. I've also heard it called a ditch lily because many are seen growing in ditches around America.

Wow. Beautiful ditches. That is a gorgeous colour - very like the tiger lily which is that colour plus it has stripes going through it.

Love those ditch lilies. I have gone on the side of the road and dug some out to put around my yard. They grow everywhere around here.

We call them ditch lilies here, too. ;-)
You know I thought about digging some of them up and planting them at the house. I think they are really pretty.

I posted a flower today or yesterday similar to this except mine is a hibiscus. This is a day lily or something similar to that I would guess and a nice shot of it too.
I haven't heard them called ditch lilies before. Maybe they're not as common up here. Such a pretty flower to beautify lowly places.
Stunning colour Dot, and beautifuuly composed and framed.
What a beautiful day lily. Striking color!
Love the vibrant orange of this lily! Isn't it a beauty?
Rich and intense color.
Beautiful! :)
What an impressive looking lily - gorgeous color! I would love to see these lilies growing in the ditches. Very nice photo!
Looks like ones we called Tiger Lilies when I was a child.
Very nostalgic for me - my grandmother had masses of these in front of her house.
Gorgeous, vivid color. Wish these grew in the ditches around here... (wistful sigh). We've got a plethora of wild blackberry vines!
That is a beautiful flower. It can liven up any ditch in my opinion.
Fantastic lily and it's amazing colour.
Can't say I've already saw an orange lily ... it's simply and yet so beautiful.
Also enjoyed quite a lot your post about the little Indian mound.
Wow, it's burning my screen, wonderful color.
Striking color Dot - beautiful! I love how you capture God's creative handiwork with your camera!!!

Very nice photo. I have these everywhere around my house. At least they look like these anyway. I want to dig some of them up and then out my garden a little, but I've been too lazy. LOL There is a lot of work waiting for me..
What a gorgeous shade of orange. The daylilies around here have long since gone. I posted a picture of a seed pod from one yesterday on my blog.
stunning
This is such a pretty flower picture. I like the background colors too.
