Today's Flowers
The bumble bees are still clinging to what's left of my yellow butterfly bush. As you can see it looks pretty bad but there must be something good remaining there for the bee.
I grew up in a south that comes alive with azaleas and dogwoods in the spring. The blooming period lasts for about two weeks and then it's over. This is a different kind of azalea that was developed by Buddy Lee of Independence, Louisiana. It's called the Encore Azalea and it blooms at several different times during the year. This one has been blooming for at least 2 months.

Beautiful ciclamen!
Meire
This is the second post which I think the most beautiful! I can hardly say which flowers are the most beautiful, for there are too many of them! I feel happy to see them.
Bumblebees NOW? You are lucky indeed. All we have to look forward to are roses made of ice.
Hi Dot
Very interesting post, as always you do!
Azaleas are wonderful!
Thanks for posting here!
Have a nice days!

So beautiful shots! The bee is so alive!
Both are beautiful--I would love to try that azalea if I didn't kill every one I ever planted!
My favorite of the two though is the bee...
Love the bumblebee and flowers. Very nice close up! So lovely.
Beautiful ciclamen and the bee is nice.
Love that one you call an azalea. It reminds me of hibiscus. And the bee on the butterfly bush is a charming photo.
Dot: Your bumblebee was neat and the red of that Azalea was really nice.
I was surprise to see a bee the other day. I love that second photo! Gorgeous!! The color is stunning, I love that color! I love my lillies when they are in bloom but they don't last long.
I am growing very succesfully Azaleas in our garden in Toronto.
They bloom during spring. But during the winter I love to have some flowering Azaleas in our house.
We had some very nice warm Indian summer days last week and I watched Bumblebees in our garden as well.
Wonderful pictures.
- Cheers Gisela
I was surprised to seem honeybees in my area too when its cold already...
Love the second one too!
The bumble bee in her warm fuzzy winter coat is busy getting the last drops of nectar before winter closes in. Lovely Azalea, they flower here twice, once in spring and once in autumn.
Love both pictures.
This pink flower is a beauty.
I meant to answer your comment about if fall lasted longer would we tire of it...I honestly don't think I would. I love the colors of fall, love the weather...but it sure feel like it is over here. Cold and misty and definitely feels like winter today.
Ah Dot what great photos and i love the song goes good with the photos
Azalias are beautiful and your photo is also beautiful. The bumble bee close-up was awesome. Thank you for sharing.
How great to have this bloom now and to have that wonderful pink still around to enjoy. Have a good week Dot!

I like the huge flower. I feel like I could sit on it.
I've only recently heard of Encore Azaleas. How nice that you have flowers blooming at this time of year! The color is beautiful. Great bumblebee closeup. I'm glad it's finding a bit of nectar; it won't be long 'til that all gone.
What a great bee shot! I know I'm supposed to be looking at the flowers but wow!
The azalea is pretty. I don't have much success with them. I think I'd like this one.
I am glad your Buddleja still managed to provide food for that beautiful bumble bee.
In Australia most of our Azaleas are repeat flowering, only the deciduous ones are not.

I love how you've captured the bee busy working on the nectar of the flower. Beautifully shot :)
That Azelea is gorgeous! That pink color is my favorite. We still have a few brave bees hanging around here looking desperately for a tasty flower.
That's a fuzzy looking bee. :-) The flowers are beautiful.

Your growing season lasts soooo much longer than mine!
I bet that beautiful azalea isn't hardy here. Not many are. Nice photo!
Hi
Both fantastic macros, you better fix the HTML and they will be better displayed.
Love the bee!!! what a dandy Azalea to bloom for such a long time. MB
Beautiful flowers!!!
I love it! Congratulations!!!!
Have a nice week.
Those are so beautiful... I like the water drop... it looks like it is going down any minute... the colors are exuberant.
The azalea has the most beautiful colour and the other one, I'm sure it still has something left for the bee :-)
Gorgeous flowers! And thanks for the reminder about dogwoods. My husband loved them when we lived in Virginia. I am fond of the deep hued azaleas. . .both of which can't live up in zone 5.
Thanks for sharing!
These looks great, Dot, I think they look sharp/in focus ... and bee-u-tiful
