That's a new phrase for me! This part of Savannah is great in sepia, Dot!

No I never knew that, but I have learned that bloghopping is some sort of an education.

Nope, I didn't know that. It's good to learn!

I love those old buildings. We have several in our downtown and now I might have to pay a visit to take some pictures. Great shot in sepia.

Never heard that one either. So you weren't the last person on earth to find out.

Great shot!

I didn't know that's what they called them but I love to see the old signs still visible on the sides of buildings.

Great photo. I've never heard of "ghost signs" before. BTW... if you live in Georgia, and you are kind, then you are a "Georgia Angel"... :)

I've never heard of ghost signs, so know I know. Thanks for the education. It's perfect in sepia.

The old, classic buildings and old sign work really well in sepia. nice shot.

As long as you can read what's written, the signs is working as good advertising. It will become a ghost only when you can't read it anymore.
PS: Divinity attracts me much more than boiled peanuts! :-)))

Nope, I didn't know it either. Whatever they're called, I like them :).

I didn't know that! I guess my town has ghosts other than in its homes and cemeteries! Perhaps we can have a downtown "ghost sign" tour. :)

That's a new one for me though it is very fitting.

The detail work on the brick shows up so well in sepia. Love this photo Dot!

I see from reading the comments I am the only one who knew this.

Building walls here in NYC adorned with these adverts were years later blocked from sight by a taller building/wall ... recently after a building was torn down the original advert on the wall was exposed ...

Lovely shot; it's like travelling back in time.

This is beautiful in sepia. I've seen this sign on my travels through Savannah two years ago.

Lovely tones.

I did know about the "ghost signs".

I didn't know that, but I did read something about it on a blog once & didn't exactly get what they were saying - but now I know! Thanks Dot! It makes sense now that I know what it means.

Dot: A very neat look into the past with the sign.

I didn't know that either but there are a lot of things I don't know, lucky me, lol

Just found your site, you have beautiful pictures of Georgia. I did not know about the ghost signs. I started my blog last week and know very little. I hope I can figure out how to get sepia pictures - yesterday I took some nice pictures at the Historical Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta - some of them would look good in sepia. I have a lot to learn!

We have a few around town here, but I didn't know that's what they were called.
I kind of like them don't you..?
