Sky Watch Friday/ Spiderman??
Not long ago my friend Andrea asked me if I'd ever taken a picture and found something I didn't expect. While in south Alabama a few weeks ago I took a picture of this water tower while standing in the middle of a Winn Dixie parking lot. When I got home and loaded the pictures onto my laptop I didn't even notice what I had caught. Later when looking at the pictures again I saw the man but wondered if that was really what I saw. It's much smaller on the lap top. I showed the picture to my brother and he thought it was a man too but my sister said no it was something to let the air out of the tank. So the next time I went into this town I checked the water tower and there was nothing there. Then when I got home to Georgia and enlarged the pictures I could definately see the man up there. He must have been doing some kind of repair work.

Your tower subject is always magnifico.
What an amazing shot. I admire his guts.
What a catch - I'm like David, gotta admire the guy! Hope he got paid well.
Amazing shot. Hope he doesn´t fall!
The sky is the daily bread of the eyes.... mine's up too... hope you can drop by....
Really very strange photograph, I did not believe that these towers of water are so much big, but also are astonished with the person-spider, rather as skier appear!
That's more than a little scary. I wouldn't do it. Not because I'm afraid of heights, though. A fall from that height won't kill most people... just that sudden stop at the very end.
'Water' shot that is... ha!
I like the idea it was something to let the air out... that made me chuckle Dot.
Whoa, dot! I'm glad I don't have a job like that! :D
That is amazing, I would not like to be up there, very brave man.
WOW! AMAZING!
Crazy!
That is amazing!
excellent photos, well catch.
wow well caught for sky watch.
Mine are on show now
He can have that job! Great catch on capturing it...I quite often take a picture and then when I download it notice something I had not noticed when I took it.
You could not pay me to do that job.
This is wonderful. What a courage. Very nice and lucky shot.
That guy up there has lots more courage than I do! Wow.
He's braver than I am - I couldn't do that kind of work.
I think you found that painter's best side!! I love to find something that you didn't expaect
WOW!
Considering I am wobbly on the second rung of a ladder this spaced me out!
Great stuff Dot!
Thanks for the comments re stuff...really appreciate you.

This is a fantastic post ... great skywatch, great pictures!
This is no joke: I took a picture today of a water tower from a Winn Dixie parking lot, and only because of you!!! I am very serious!
Glad you get me, too.
Good catch!! I always photograf people on roofs
Ha! You always have the most interesting objects in your photos! I'm glad to see that guy is tethered in some way so he doesn't slide off!! Have a great weekend...
Wow, that is one scary job! He's brave.
I was just thinking of you the other day as I drove past a water tower. I hadn't seen any of your great tower photos for awhile, so this is special!
Nice surprise. Just dropping by to say hello from south Texas.
Spiderman??
Wonder what he was doing?
Perhaps painting over rust spots??
A great picture with a secret:)
-Cheers.
Neat shot. I don't think I want his job.
Dot: It doesn't matter how you got it, it came out great.
Oh my goodness!
I didn't notice the man in the first one!
:) It's funny too, that I also take pictures of water towers- have several from different places !
Junie

Very nice shots! He was not afraid of heights;)
Have a nice and fun SWF:)
That's a real gutsy man up there! My legs would have turned jello-like :P
Happy SkyWatch !!
As my piXies would say, "Waaay Cool!" ;-)
Whoa, that looks pretty scary. Not a job for me, that's for darn sure!!
Well, this was interesting, amazing and way cool.

Nah, he's spray painting "I love Betty Sue" in John Deere green paint. :)
very good shot...sure takes a lot of courage.
Oh my gosh Dot, what a great shot and the post is so fitting.Loved it
Wow! He looks so tiny up there! I'll bet he's not afraid of heights. LOL
~Kelli
oh boy...I don't dare stand like that in that tower :D
My SWF few from balcony in here Thanks
Nice shot!
Will you visit my SWF Thanks.
Blimey! A love of heights required. Good shot!!
I can see the man. He must be working - yes.
I can see his rope as well.
A very brave fellow!
A special catch Dot.
I'm glad he seems to have some safety equipment - not a job for me.
A great shot. I must say he's got more nerve that I'd have!
It`s a man allright, looks scary to be up there, great photos. Thanks for visiting my blog!
Looks like a man with a long line holding him in place. Nice shot.
Abraham Lincoln in Brookville, Ohio.
He can have that job! Your story sounds like a good plot for a mystery. Great catch!
Hi Dot. Glad to land here again...
Amazing picture! Also loved to see your yellow project!
Thanks for your comments at Blogtrotter, where you may now see the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao. Hope you enjoy it!
Have a great weekend!

So cool!
What a GREAT capture! I LOVE coming home after taking shots and finding something I didn't expect!
Happy Friday!
WOW!!!!!!! I may get "sick" from heights, just looking at this! Wow!
I agree, it's a man. Someone has to make repairs, I suppose. Hope he gets paid well!!!
Miss Mari-Nanci
My dad used to paint things like water towers, grain elevators, smokestacks... it's not inherited, though, as I'm afraid of heights!!
Great shot!! :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
LOL. I liked your story. That made your photo even better. Good thing he had a safety wire!
How fun good catch
Whoa! Now that is one brave man!! No way would you ever for any reason find me up there!!
I saw the man even without reading your post, he is attached to a safety cord, but what I noticed is more the name of the tank that's too funny because a "minette" is a little cat in french or also a sexy girl but not in a flattering way, lol !
Dot, thanks for visiting me. Yes, we are relatively close. I'm in Dothan in the southeast corner of AL. I can see from your map where you are. I stumbled on your site, and I have loved the photographs. I am a photography newbie, and I have only a point and shoot sort of camera--Canon SD 1000---but I want to learn to "see" things. I think the Sky Watch community is a great place to do that.
That tower looks huge. I like your yellow photos of the bee and butterfly.
what a great structure!!!!
I see he has his safety harness on. Smart man! I can tell he is not a plumber......he isn't showing his.......well you know....as he is bent over. You had told me you captured something you didn't realize until you loaded it on your computer. Lucky you.....amzing shot.
I didn't see it at first either. Nice eye :)
Oh wow, I could NEVER do that!! Great shot :)
That is SO neat! I've done that a few times - got something in a photo that I didn't realize at first... but never a person hehe! What a neat story and picture!
hehe, nice capture Dot, even if it was a lucky one! I don't know about spiderman, more like just plain CRAZYMAN!
WoW! I wouldn't dare that! Looks like he is skiing!
Petunia's SWF
What a great hidden capture. I wonder what he thinks or if he even knows how many of us have view him. He is certainly brave to be a top that tower.
That is scary.
Hi
Good skywatch, I wonder what he is doing, maybe painting!!!!
I didn't have much time last week and the next few weeks it won't be better. DON'T FORGET ME!!!!!!
Have a great weekend.
Thanks for the help come see what I can do... I am as excited as a kid in a toy store!!
Fabulous shot…
Oh my word! I want to shout "Don't jump!"
Great catch!!
He has more guts than I do.. thanks for sharing.
stoppy by.. great sky watch!
I love it when you find little surprizes! Great shot!
It's amazing how small he is in proportion to the tower. What a serendipitous shot.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I have to tell you that when you mentioned kudzo, my heart sank. I lived in Dunwoody Georgia for one year. I fell in love with it within two weeks. I know the problem kudzo was back in 1982, not sure what it's doing now. But my heart is in Georgia, and I'm so glad I found you, or perhaps you found me. I'll be visiting again!
oh and by the way, that guy up there. I know exactly what you mean. I took a picture of a flower once, and couldn't figure out what the dot was on the flower, when I enlarged it 300 fold, I found the tiniest of spiders. Your man on the water tower reminded me of my itsy bitsy spider.

sorry for the double entry, I'm not sure what happened. What a great way to meet someone, just put so many comments on their blog that they'll want to run from you! Sorry.
Amazing picture, great shot.

What an unusual find :-)
Wow...that's a cool photo!
Many many years ago my parents retired to Gulf Shores, so I'm somewhat familiar with a lot of those pretty small towns in south Alabama.
How amazing to capture the guy on top of the water tower.I see that he has a safety rope attached. You would never catch me up that high.
Great post1
I didn't want to be that men, bear the sky!!!!
I'm very weighty!

Nice.
Sorry it took me so long to check out your blog. We had gone to your fine state of Georgia this weekend. Just got home today.
