There are many things of beauty in the deep south and I think a cotton field is one of them! When I was growing up I liked to do things to earn spending money. I picked cotton once and I chopped it another time. Today they use machines for everything. You see a cotton field that has been picked by a machine and half the cotton is still there. If it was my field I'd be out there trying to get the rest of the cotton! I recently took pictures of cotton fields in south Georgia and north Alabama that had already been picked. I was happy to find this beautiful field in south Alabama that had not been picked.

On August 21,1995 while on a flight from Atlanta to Biloxi, Atantic Southeast Airlines Flight 529 crashed in a field in the Burwell Community near Carrollton GA. There were 10 fatalities including one who died 4 months after the crash. The people of the Burwell Community errected this monument behind the Shiloh United Methodist Church.. I've always regretted that I didn't take a picture of the church and will probably never be able to go back. This is not my original post. The pictures had vanished for some reason and while trying to redo the post I accidentally deleted it. Since people still come here on a search to see this I am reposting. I hate that I lost the comments .https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_Southeast_Airlines_Flight_529
